Yesterday I took the kids to Michael's office for some pre-Halloween trick-or-treating. The kids came home with little bags full of chocolate, suckers, and licorice. Some of them even got cookies.
Kai however was the only one to come home with a can of soup. When asked, "do you want candy, or soup?" He chose soup.

I like soup.
Maybe he is learning that a real meal isn't mommy's strong point, so he thought he'd best start looking out for himself.
It's just a thought.
Mmmmm soup. (!?!?)
I think you are such a funny writer--you are hilarious! I'm guessing the soup was his choice because of sheer size and weight. Can't fill up your bucket with tootsie rolls! Go Kai!
vigues-- I'm inclined to agree with you. Perhaps he heard about the corn chowder I made that was still frozen when the women at super sat tried to eat it.
Ben and Natalie-- You make a good point too. Really I'm just feeling bad for the guys who's lunch he came home with.
Were there any fingers in it? Maybe he's looking for that finger stew you talked about.
The thing about that awesome son of yours is that it's a total waste of time trying to figure out why he does anything, like asking for soup on Halloween. His reasoning is either way more bizarre than any of could guess, or totally mundane.
He's awesome. If Kaes wasn't so freakin' huge, I would wish for him for a son-in-law someday.
um, that is totally awesome.
