Wednesday was the kids last day at Freedom. When I picked the boy up from school he was crying, his teacher was crying, the teacher's aid was crying. I was bombarded by people who were sad we were leaving. It really didn't make for the start of a great afternoon. Thursday and Friday is fall break for both schools so they start the new school on Monday. They've met their teachers and they know where their classrooms are. It should go off with out a hitch!
That brings me back to fall break. They are home today. They were home yesterday. I don't know if I like fall break just like I don't know if I like summer. I like not having to drive them to school, or worry about getting Chase on the bus. But I also like not having to drag four kids to the store and break up arguments.

girl: Well my pretend club is at 9:30 and I need time to prepare! **glares with hands on hips**

It didn't really all happen at once (an advantage) but it did all happen (a disadvantage).

Are you sure School doesn't start on Tuesday? My kids have Monday off too. You might want to check that out. Sounds like a grand time. I am thankful it is Tim's birthday so it kept us busy yesterday shopping and today partying with Tim. Shopping was interesting though. Again, disadvantage. But my kids were surprisingly good, advantage.
Hmm. I know at Freedom they don't have school Monday also. I'll have to check with someone in the neighborhood. I'd hate to send them to an empty school on their first day.
for some reason i thought they started Wed. But I hope Mon (or Tues.) will be fun for them.
Ps- didn't you stay home an extra day from school, telling your parents there was no scchool?

AND It wasn't an extra day . . . I told my mom that School ended a week before it really did. But someone told on me. Gee who could that have been . . . hmm, YOU PERHAPS? Punk.
My kid had to go to school on Monday (Columbus Day) because they "couldn't cancel school for a minor holiday" but was off today for a teacher preparation day. I'm still trying to understand the logic in that. Good luck at the new school!

NG- I think kids have to go to school on Columbus Day because people got the memo about what really happened with Columbus :)
