My Budding Artist

I am very excited to announce that Davis has made significant progress in his artistic abilities in the last 24 hours.

When he started out with his little red marker he was limited to scribbling . . .

. . . in my bedroom

. . . and in the bathroom

. . . and on the dryer.

All this practice gave him the ability to draw more complicated things--like people . . .

. . . on the cupboard in the pantry.

Which, not surprisingly, captivated him enough that he tried his hand at modern art  . . .

. . . on the dog.

I'm so proud I'm practically in tears.

Oh, I believe you're in tears alright. And probably him too.
Call Shell. We've got some awesome ink remover cleany stuff.
Although we've never tested it on dogs . . .

Oh my goodness! Is it washable marker? That is terrible! It is really the sort of thing you have to blog about just to deal with emotionally. Oh dear!

Just for the record though, I think a 2 year old who draws people is very impressive!

Wow.

Davis,
You have such an amazing way of endearing yourself to you mom. Not to mention an incredible artistic talent.

Impressive! You all are welcome to come visit me, but we will be playing in the park ;). You're a lucky gal, Lis.

Apparently, Littletron had a MAJOR drawing on the walls issue when he was younger. So, Troubletron feels your pain. Sorry.

Pmom-- It is dry erase marker. so it came right off most surfaces, though I may have to invest in a magic eraser for the walls. However the dog is going to have to wait because I'm not allowed to bath him until for another week or so. And yes, I was impressed with his people too!

Alice- you know if I come visit I'm leaving the kids at home. Its the only way to travel.

Sparklebot- tell Troubletron I appreciate his empathy. I feel like we really have a connection now.

wow...you didn't kill him. That's a sign of the major progress you've made in the last 11 years of marital bliss. As a reward, have a Dr. Pepper or 12.

If he was mine, I would beat him. (Ever so gently, of course...) But since he is yours, I am laughing my head off. Damn kids. Damn funny.

PS to mhambster: Shell already brought the cleany stuff to Beth about two weeks ago when her house looked like she may need help hiding a body.

Beth is going to need a bigger bottle. They need to make one called "Malmgren Size".

(Thought about making the "Davis Size" but figured it would be small and just make the mess bigger.)

You need to get one of those vinyl stickers that looks like a frame and tell him THIS is the part of the wall he is allowed to draw on. I know someone who "solved" their kids drawing problem this way. It worked for them...Just a thought.

This was my Spencer's M.O. and he finally out grew it. It was after we invested in many, many magic erasers though. (Their inventor is genius!)
