A Grand Unveiling

After several trips to the craft store and many hours hiding away in my craft room I finally finished the kids costumes.

Madison is going as Hermione

Kai is going as the ghost of Obi Wan Kenobi

Chase refuses to have his picture taken.
So instead of going as John Deere Farmer
he'll be going as an Amish farmer.

and Davis is going as a Halloween pumpkin.

Bring on the candy!

These are great. I wondered how you were going to do the ghost of Obi Wan Kenobi (sp?), and he is perfect! Everyone looks great. (I'm assuming that Chase looks as good as everyone else.)

They turned out so great--even the ghost!

Fabulous costumes! They are so cute. I guess you didn't make Obi Wan glow?

I support "dead"-anything costumes, like the boy's. Love it.

And, did you make hermione?

I'm pretty sure that Hermione's the character's parents made her, and J. K. Rowling made the character Hermione. So whether the answer to Sparklebot's question is "yes" or "no" depends on whether she/he is referring to Hermione herself in the story, Hermione the character, or MEF in the Hermione costume. It's a complicated question.

vigues-- I gave up on making Obi Wan glow. I thought about doing the glow stick thing and that would have been really cool, but decided it wasn't worth the effort.

Sparklebot-- I made the scarf, added red stripes to a yellow tie, hemmed up an old graduation gown, and made the gryffindor patch out of felt. So I some of it, but a lot of it was just altering other already made things.

Jim F-- You're such a philosopher.

All are wonderful. The Hermione costume wins for detail & effort, but the ghost of Obi Wan definitely should get a prize for stylish execution (no pun intended) of a challenging concept.
