Costumes

This year each of the kids knew exactly what they wanted to be for Halloween. Long gone are the days when I could convince them to go as some sort of theme. Even Davis, at the sweet age of 2, knew he wanted to be a pumpkin as soon as he saw this seasons first crop in the grocery store. Regardless of Michael's urging them to go as various Ben Ten characters, this is what they have decided they want to be . . .

As I said before, Davis is going to be a pumpkin, Chase is going to be a John Deere farmer, Madison is going to be Hermione Granger, and Kai is going to be the ghost of Obi Wan Kenobi. Thats right. Not Obi Wan Kenobi, the ghost of Obi Wan Kenobi. Speaking of which, do any of you know how to make a 7 year old glow?

The only glow I know how to get is the pregnancy one. Don't think that'd work for Kai...

I saw some glow in the dark lipstick and nail polish today. Perhaps you could have fun with that?

Oh,I do, I do, I know this one...it involves too much time near a campfire, playing one-up with your brother, broken glowsticks and a sincere desire to determine what "non-toxic" means...and, later, a butt chewing, much laughter and a call to poison control.

BTW - glow sticks are non-toxic! Even if you put them in your mouth.

Glow sticks are non-toxic, yes, but they do stain. You also have to watch out fro the broken glass (from the tube that gets broken to activate the glow.)

It might be worth it for a Halloween costume . . .

This is a post after my own heart. This is the first year I didn't get to pick the kids costumes...I think I am still having a breakdown!

Are there any nuclear power plants around? I am not sure one year's awesome costume is worth the negative side effects of nuclear matter. But its a thought. I am excited to see pictures for sure.

My stepson wants to be ghost superman. So, if you figure out the glow factor, please let me know.
