Etsy Shops

I have decided to post a few things in my esty shop again. It's been a while, but I have a bunch of things I've been meaning to put up. I finally put up a few ornaments and plan to put up more this week. I also have some vintage material and buttons I'm going to put up. So go check it out. visualanarchy.etsy.com. While you're checking out etsy you should look at sweetersweater.etsy.com and sheartyrants.etsy.com.

I've mentioned The Sweeter Sweater before-- she makes awesome sweaters out of reclaimed wool. I bought a couple of hair clips for Madison to wear for our family pictures and they are SO adorable. Seriously, her stuff is awesome.

Shear Tyrants is very cool too. She has crocheted scarves and monster themed IPod covers. Tell me that isn't awesome!

I also added links to both the Sweeter Sweater and Shear Tyrants stores to my side bar.

Eating Out and Aprons

I had two goals last week. I know, I know, TWO goals! What can I say, I'm incredible.

The first was to go out to eat more than I should. Having my sister-in-law come to visit provided plenty of opportunities for that.

The second was to make an apron. I made three. This is the only one I have a picture of, but I quite like it and am going to be listing it on etsy today.

Thing I learned:

1. Sewing machines (even industrial ones) don't enjoy sewing through 9 layers of folded over canvas. But they will if you talk to them very nicely and promise them chocolate.
2. A good pattern can be your best friend.
3. I really do like eating out.

The Purse . . . or is it a Bag?

So here is the purse I made. It is even lined. I'm very excited about it. I am hoping to finish a really nice scarf soon and I will put them up on Etsy at the same time. Tell me what you think.

Bad News and Good News

I have never gotten a speeding ticket. In fact my driving record is virtually spotless. Today however, my good driving fortune has ended.

Sadly I swapped some paint with another car while I was parking. When the woman first saw her car, she told me not to worry about it, apparently it was her husbands car. I was a little concerned that her husband might be a little more upset than she was. I gave her my name and phone number just in case. The bumper on my car didn't fare as well as the bumper on her car. Not only does it now brandish new scratches and some new red paint, it has a nice crack.

As I was fretting about the fact that we are going to have to pay to have the other person bumper sanded and repainted and get a whole new bumper on our car, I got an email saying that I have now made my second sale on etsy!

Yup. I sold this handsome devil. So I have great news. I now have another 4 dollars of pure profit. This time I am going to put it towards my insurance deductible (I'm fairly certain the husband is going to be calling)! If I sell a few hundred more ornaments I'll be set. Of course in order to sell a few hundred more, I'm going to have to pull out my stained glass stuff so I can make more. Before I do that I'm going to have to clean out the garage.

I guess no sonic Dr. Pepper with lime for me today. Which is too bad because I could really use one.

Hooray For Me!

Yesterday I sold my first item at my Etsy store. I only put up a few items because I didn't think I would actually sell anything. Now that I sold something, I may put up a few more.

I sold this little beauty for $8 plus $3 shipping. It cost me approximately $1.50 to make and $.20 to list. Then Etsy took $.28 off the sale. It cost me 4$ to mail it (oops) plus $1 in packing supplies. So . . . doing some quick math . . . I'm trying to figure out what to do with my $4.02 of PURE profit.

I think I might go to Sonic tomorrow and get a Dr. Pepper WITH lime (I can afford the extra for the flavoring now because I'm making money baby). I might even wait until after I pick the kids up from school because then the drinks are half price and I can get two! I'm so excited!
